WEEPING ROSES

Visit Silkies Rose Farm at Clonbinane and you will see a huge range of tall weeping roses - the height range is between 5', 6' and there are a few 7' tall varieties.

Generally, a weeping rose is a climbing rose variety which has been budded to an understock cane - not all climbing roses are suitable for budding as weeping roses - only those varieties which produce lax canes are appropriate and therefore, some ground-covering varities of roses are also suitable and perform exceedingly well as weeping roses.

All weeping roses MUST be supported by a steel ring and pole kit because the flowering canes will gracefully fall down over the ring and although the understock stem will thicken once planted in the soil, the weeping rose will need to be supported by the steel ring and pole kit throughout its life!

Your weeping rose should be located in a very prominent position in your garden - place it so that you can enjoy the spectacular mass of blooms for up to nine months of each year and give it at least 2 metres of garden bed space so that the canes can weep all around the main stem.

A weeping rose is a glorious investment in your garden!
